Julia and Axel - Thirty Years of Favourite Stories at The Lowry - Photo by B Anderson

If you like hearing stories,

about Gruffalos, Tiddlers and Smoos,

Julia and Axel have things you can do,

during holidays while you’re not in school.

An exhibition of Julia’s stories,

and of Axel’s colourful art,

at the Lowry in Salford,

which is free if you want to take part.

Julia and Axel – The Exhibition Areas

There are things to make and books to read,

And stories that could make you squirm

You could colour in a lovely fish,

Or make your own Super Worm!

Julia and Axel – Interactive Things

Axel is the artist,

so he draws all the pictures,

He draws Gruffalos, worms and dragons called Zog,

it is a real mixture!

Julia will let you see,

how she creates a story,

the process from writing down ideas,

to finished books in all their glory.

Julia and Axel – Thought Processes

And if you bring your adults,

and IF they are well behaved,

The Gruffalo and friends agree,

they can also join in the fun and games!

Julia and Axel – Thirty Years of Favourite Stories is a free exhibition at The Lowry, Salford.  It runs from Saturday 22nd July to Monday 1st January 2024.
